After graduating from Catholic elementary and high school, he attended St. Joseph\u2019s University in Philadelphia and St. Mary\u2019s Seminary and University in Baltimore. In 1972 he entered the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and was ordained to the priesthood in 1979. Bishop Murry holds a M.Div. degree from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley, California, as well as an M. Phil. and Ph.D. in American Cultural History from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Murry has served as a professor of American Cultural History at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., President of Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C., and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Detroit. In 1995 Pope John Paul II appointed him Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago. She worked as as a teacher in Catholic high schools and a Parish Director of Religious Education and started writing for the diocesan press - the Florida Catholic - in 1988. Amy has written columns for Our Sunday Visitor and Catholic News Service at times over the past twenty years. Her articles have been published in venues ranging from Our Sunday Visitor to the New York Times to Commonweal. She has written 17 books. 18, if you included the as yet tragically unpublished novel. Amy has five children, ranging in age from 26 to 4 and was married to Michael Dubruiel, who died unexpectedly in February 2009.
