Peter Gallagher, the team&#8217;s chaplain)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So anyway, what I think is interesting, in the brief hours since the game ended &#8211; and even in the build-up, is that gradually, what took center stage, were the coaches. Post-game, perhaps because there were no real outstanding performances on the field in the muck. Class and character can win &#8211; a good message. As <a href=\"http:\/\/chicagosports.chicagotribune.com\/sports\/columnists\/cs-070204pierson,1,5052303.column?coll=cs-bears-headlines\">Dungy said:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&quot;I&#8217;m proud to be the first African-American to win this,&quot; Dungy said. &quot;It means an awful lot to our country. But Lovie Smith and I want to be known as Christian coaches doing it the Lord&#8217;s way, showing we can win.&quot;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">And what of this &quot;Lord&#8217;s way&quot; in a commercially-driven mode of entertainment? It&#8217;s a discussion that&#8217;s been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.getreligion.org\/?p=2197\">raging<\/a> over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.getreligion.org\/?p=2190\">Get Religion <\/a>every time someone over their posts on the matter.
