This evening, I will send a summary of the goals of the study and the basic demographic breakdown which you can post at your leisure.  I will also let people know when the initial results will be available.<\/em><\/p>\n

A Catholic researcher is doing a study and would very much <\/strong>appreciate a few minutes of your time to help out:<\/p>\n

You are invited to participate in an online study examining Catholic and Protestant attitudes toward integrating religious faith and counseling. The study is completely anonymous. The study does not assume that you have been or ever will be in counseling. The study is only interested in your opinions. It is hoped that this study will help Church leaders make decisions about the best way to provide assistance to the souls in their care. Your participation would make a valuable contribution to this goal. <\/span><\/p>\n

To qualify for this study, you must be 18 years or older. All information will be kept completely confidential <\/span>and anonymous. To learn more about the survey, or to participate, please click this link (insert link here).<\/p>\n

A note from the researcher:<\/p>\n

Several people have emailed saying that they didn’t complete the survey since "I don’t know" wasn’t an option for some of the questions and they didn’t want their answers to be misleading. <\/p>\n

The survey isn’t asking what you know<\/em>.  It is asking if you have confidence.  If you "don’t know" then, by definition, you don’t have confidence.<\/p>\n

For example: if someone asked you, "If you needed brain surgery, would you have confidence that your primary care doc could refer you to someone competent  to help you with your problem?"  you wouldn’t need to know the list of neurosurgeons and their qualifications to have confidence.  You just need to know if you have confidence in your doc to provide that information.<\/p>\n

Amy has five children, ranging in age from 26 to 4 and was married to Michael Dubruiel, who died unexpectedly in February 2009.
