{"id":2240,"date":"2007-04-03T09:50:25","date_gmt":"2007-04-03T09:50:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/viamedia\/2007\/04\/books-coming.html"},"modified":"2007-04-03T09:50:25","modified_gmt":"2007-04-03T09:50:25","slug":"books-coming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/viamedia\/2007\/04\/books-coming.html","title":{"rendered":"Books coming&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.asianews.it\/index.php?l=en&amp;art=8909&amp;size=A\">In Russia:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>As Pope John Paul II requested, a Russian version of the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church has been published and will be presented on Tuesday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Moscow. <\/p>\n<p>For Mgr Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, archbishop of the Diocese of the Mother of God in Moscow, the new edition is \u201ca source that conveys clearly and precisely the essence of the Catholic doctrine, which one can turn to in order to get a coherent and authentic idea of the faith and morality.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mirrorofjustice.com\/mirrorofjustice\/2007\/04\/forthcoming_enc.html\">Via Richard Myers at Mirror of Justice, on a book he&#8217;s helped edit:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I mentioned this project before, but I wanted to alert people to a forthcoming Encyclopedia of Catholic Social Thought. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scarecrowpress.com\/Catalog\/SingleBook.shtml?command=Search&amp;db=%5EDB\/CATALOG.db&amp;eqSKUdata=0810859068\"><span style=\"color: #003366\">Here<\/span><\/a>. I am one of 4 co-editors of this volume. My co-editors are Michael Coulter, Steve Krason, and Joe Varacalli. We have been working on this for over 5 years and we just received the page-proofs; publication is due this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The encyclopedia is large (it should be about 1200 pages) and includes approximately 850 entries from over 300 contributors. Most of the contributors are members of the Society of Catholic Social Scientists and\/or the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars. Father Araujo SJ is one of the contributors along with my Ave Maria colleagues Jane Adolphe, Howard Bromberg, Joe Falvey, Bruce Frohnen, Patrick Quirk, Steve Safranek, and Jim Sonne. Other contributors include Cardinal Pell, Archbishop Michael Miller, Mary Ann Glendon, Father Canavan SJ, Bill May, Mark Latkovic, David Gregory, Father Joe Koterski SJ, and many, many others. Amy has written columns for Our Sunday Visitor and Catholic News Service at times over the past twenty years. Her articles have been published in venues ranging from Our Sunday Visitor to the New York Times to Commonweal. She has written 17 books. 18, if you included the as yet tragically unpublished novel. Amy has five children, ranging in age from 26 to 4 and was married to Michael Dubruiel, who died unexpectedly in February 2009.
