Apparently this film is the brainstorm of Doug Wick, who saw a painting based on this legend three years ago; the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0926824\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #99bbdd\">IMDB<\/span><\/a> lists Wick as a producer of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2005\/05\/newsbites-epic-dvds-homolka-etc.html\"><span style=\"color: #99bbdd\">Gladiator<\/span><\/a><\/em> (2000; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadianchristianity.com\/cgi-bin\/bc.cgi?bc\/bccn\/0600\/gladiator\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #99bbdd\">my review<\/span><\/a>), <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B0000648X6\/petertchatta\"><span style=\"color: #99bbdd\">Hollow Man<\/span><\/a><\/em> (2000), <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B000ASDFGI\/petertchatta\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #99bbdd\">Bewitched<\/span><\/a><\/em> (2005) and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B00006K11W\/petertchatta\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #99bbdd\">Stuart Little<\/span><\/a><\/em> (1999-2002; <a href=\"http:\/\/artsandfaith.com\/index.php?act=findpost&amp;pid=11842\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #99bbdd\">my comments<\/span><\/a>), among others.<\/p>\n<p>As one might expect in this day and age, this new film will not be a straightforward telling of the heroic tale. Says Wick: &quot;<em>St. George and the Dragon<\/em> is the enduring myth of a knight&#8217;s struggle to save a feudal princess from a fearsome beast.
