Over in the diocese of Worcester, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/local\/massachusetts\/articles\/2005\/09\/29\/priest_pulled_from_mass_after_refusing_to_support_anti_gay_marriage_push\/\">another priest was temporarily pulled from the pulpit<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A Catholic priest in this town was temporarily pulled from the pulpit after refusing to support the state bishops&#8217; drive against gay marriage.<\/p>\n<p>The Rev. George Lange of St. Luke the Evangelist was replaced last weekend by Bishop Robert McManus of the Worcester Diocese, who led the Saturday evening Mass and the Sunday morning Mass at the church.<\/p>\n<p>The move came after Lange and his associate pastor, the Rev. Stephen Labaire, posted an item in the Sept. 11 church bulletin stating their opposition to a proposed Constitutional amendment that would ban on gay marriage. The state&#8217;s Catholic bishops are leading a signature drive to get the amendment on the 2008 ballot.<\/p>\n<p>The bulletin item read: &quot;The priests of this parish do not feel that they can support this amendment. Amy has five children, ranging in age from 26 to 4 and was married to Michael Dubruiel, who died unexpectedly in February 2009.
