Yah, I made free decisions to say yes to all of this, but it&#8217;s just about to drive me mad. <\/p>\n<p>Did one right here at home tonight &#8211; for a new committee that&#8217;s attempting to start some diocesan-wide adult ed. We had about 120 in attendance, I think, and the usual good crowd. My friends from our relatively new Catholic radio station, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wlyv.com\/aspbite\/categories\/index.asp?tim=12:37:13%20PM\">Redeemer Radio<\/a> were there both taping me and spreading the word about their efforts. What struck me with particular force, since this was in my own back yard, was the image of the joint efforts of a lay-inspired and led committee, a lay-inspired and staffed radio station, and a lay-staffed Catholic bookstore leading the charge, with intelligence and energy, for evangelization and catechesis in this area&#8230;&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Good news, indeed!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re on the homestretch, now. 3 more DVC talks in the next week, then one more in July, and then I think that&#8217;s about it. She received an MA in Church History from Vanderbilt University, where she wrote a thesis on the changing role of women in 19th century American Protestantism, and the ways Scripture was used to justify those changes. She worked as as a teacher in Catholic high schools and a Parish Director of Religious Education and started writing for the diocesan press - the Florida Catholic - in 1988. Amy has written columns for Our Sunday Visitor and Catholic News Service at times over the past twenty years. Her articles have been published in venues ranging from Our Sunday Visitor to the New York Times to Commonweal. She has written 17 books. 18, if you included the as yet tragically unpublished novel. Amy has five children, ranging in age from 26 to 4 and was married to Michael Dubruiel, who died unexpectedly in February 2009.
