\n\nJust last night my parish had a discussion of "The Da Vinci Code," which I attended, with your book in hand, excited that we would go over the points you made. Wrong! The presenter, who is the DRE for our parish, did refute the notion that it was Mary Magdalen in the Last Supper painting, but the remainder of the time dealt more with the Church’s repression of women, and how it is possible that Jesus could have been married, although it wasn’t probable. ( I couldn’t believe my ears!) Many of the women present didn’t think it would make a difference if Jesus had been married and had children. When I brought up the idea that the Church is the Bride of Christ, therefore Jesus wouldn’t have taken an earthly bride, I was scoffed at by those around me and by the DRE. If I can get a sitter for the kids next week, I’m going back — I can’t wait to see what else will be taught under the auspices of my parish. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
