A reader wrote to rave about this book: The Secrets of Rome: Love and Death in the Eternal Cit<\/em>y by Italian journalist<\/a> Corrado Augias. I’ll put it on the list. Sigh. The long <\/em>list!<\/p>\n

I heard the author of this book – Austerity Britain<\/em> – on <\/a>the BBC radio’s Start the Week program a couple of weeks ago – (you can’t download, but you can listen online<\/a>). The book is 700 pages long, and not available in the US (you can get it through Amazon Canada), but it sounds like a fascinating rethinking of the post-war years in England. <\/p>\n

Oh…and you know all those great General Audience talks<\/span> <\/span>on the Apostles<\/span>? Yeah, those? Well, they’re coming out in book form later this summer. <\/a>Now, if it were only necessary for the editor of this edition to confer with the author in person…..<\/p>\n

Here’s our bestseller’s list. I’m impressed that some of you are shelling out 70 bucks for the Corpus Christi book! Better people than I!<\/p>\n
