Amy, back in April (in the context of DVC) you ran a post about a Director of RE who decided to offer a course in Biblical Greek, and it was the most popular course she had ever offered, etc.  That post struck me like a lightning bolt.<\/em><\/div>\n

I immediately emailed it to our Pastor and asked him what he thought about it. (I had never discussed my background in this with anyone at the parish). At Mass the following Sunday, in the middle of the homily, he transitioned from the kids who had just received First Communion, to the fact that many of us have never moved beyond our understanding of the Faith at their level (the Second Grade), to the fact that he was delighted to announce that your truly was going to be offering this class. I leaned over to my wife and whispered, "I guess I’m going to be teaching."  We are now organizing the class to start in September.<\/em><\/div>\n

Amy has written columns for Our Sunday Visitor and Catholic News Service at times over the past twenty years. Her articles have been published in venues ranging from Our Sunday Visitor to the New York Times to Commonweal. She has written 17 books. 18, if you included the as yet tragically unpublished novel. Amy has five children, ranging in age from 26 to 4 and was married to Michael Dubruiel, who died unexpectedly in February 2009.
