Are they <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">necessary<\/span> to our Practice?<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size:130%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">No, not at all!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p>We don&#8217;t need anything other than <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Zazen, <\/span>any of those trappings. In fact, they are no big deal, of no importance, when we drop all viewpoints in sitting <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Zazen<\/span>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: right;\">On the other hand, we have to do <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">something<\/span>, greet each other somehow, read some words, dress some way. Why <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">not<\/span> do such things?<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">What is more, there is method to the madness, and each custom has centuries of time tested benefits &#8230; embodies subtle perspectives &#8230; that support and nurture the <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Zazen<\/span> Practice at their core.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"font-size:78%;\">(Truly, we don&#8217;t &#8216;d<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">o<\/span>&#8216; such things, or &#8216;<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">not do&#8217;<\/span> them.
