Part Four"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OK, I was all brewing up a great intermezzo post with a provisional<br \/>\ndefinition of PT, then I got this anonymous comment that blew me away:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p> <span style=\"font-style: italic\">Practical theology is that<br \/>\ntheological discipline which is concerned with the Church&#8217;s<br \/>\nself-actualization here and now &#8211; both that which is and that which<br \/>\nought to be. That it does by means of theological illumination of the<br \/>\nparticular situation in which the Church must release itself in all its<br \/>\ndimensions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"font-style: italic\">This practical theology is a<br \/>\nunique, independent science, a fundamental one in essence in spite of<br \/>\nits reciprocal relationship with other theological disciplines, since<br \/>\nits business of scientifically critical and systematic reflection is a<br \/>\nunique quantity and its nature is not deducible.
