For the past few years, our show has been <em>Lost<\/em>. Its dramatic plot and love stories and perpetual mysteries all piqued my interest, but the show, written by a Catholic and a Jew, also played with philosophical and theological themes that kept me coming back for more. <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.christianitytoday.com\/ctentertainment\/2010\/05\/there-are-still-a-lot-of-quest-1.html\">Sunday<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ew.com\/ew\/article\/0,,20313460_20387946,00.html\">night\u2019s<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/idolchatter\/2010\/05\/lost-series-finale-purgatory-heaven.html\">series<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment\/news\/la-et-lost-reax-20100525,0,3465472.story\">finale<\/a> was no exception.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left;padding-right: 10px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.christianitytoday.com\/women\/upload\/2010\/05\/Lost-Finale-Sawyer-Juliet-590x393.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.christianitytoday.com\/women\/upload\/2010\/05\/Lost-Finale-Sawyer-Juliet-590x393-thumb.jpg\" width=\"345\" height=\"230\" alt=\"Lost-Finale-Sawyer-Juliet-590x393.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Judeo-Christian language and imagery show up repeatedly. There\u2019s Jacob, who, to pass the mantel of leadership of the island to Jack Shepherd, dips a cup into water and says, \u201cDrink this.\u201d The scene is laden with references to the Last Supper. There\u2019s Jack\u2019s father, <em>Christian Shepherd<\/em>, who dies and comes to life again, as one of a handful of resurrected characters. Light is the source of all goodness.
