It counters the standard Elixabeth Kubler-Ross &#8220;Five Stages of Grief&#8221; paradigm, and suggests that we don&#8217;t grieve in stages, we don&#8217;t need to express our grief, grief is harder on men, grief has an ending point, and counseling isn&#8217;t all it&#8217;s cut out to be.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>There&#8217;s a new prenatal screening test that has been developed so that Down syndrome (and other genetic abnormalities) can be detected without amniocentesis.&nbsp;&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/healthland.time.com\/2011\/01\/13\/can-a-new-blood-test-make-babies-with-down-syndrome-disappear\/\" target=\"_blank\">Can a New Blood Test Make Babies with Down Syndrome Disappear?<\/a>&#8221; I&#8217;m hoping to run a series of posts next week in response to this article.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Finally, from this month&#8217;s Atlantic, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/magazine\/archive\/2011\/01\/the-rise-of-the-new-global-elite\/8343\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Rise of the New Global Elite<\/a>&#8221; made me think about the responsibility of the wealthy in relation to &#8220;the poor.&#8221; I&#8217;m hoping to write a post that connects this article to Tim Keller&#8217;s new book, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Generous-Justice-Gods-Grace-Makes\/dp\/0525951903\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1295462318&amp;sr=1-1\">Generous Justice<\/a>&#8211;my first favorite book of 2011.&nbsp;<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Time has an article this week, &#8220;Good News About Grief&#8221; that debunks some of the myths about grieving.
