Kelsey Grammer is officially a father of eight! The Frasier star, 70, revealed on the Pod Meets World podcast with Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle, and Rider Strong that he and his wife, Kayte Walsh, recently welcomed a new baby boy.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Kayte] just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids,\u201d Grammer shared. \u201cIt was like three days ago. Christopher\u2014that\u2019s just joined the family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grammer and Walsh already share a daughter, Faith, 12, and sons, Gabriel, 10, and James, 8. The Emmy-winning actor is also dad to daughter Spencer, 41, with first wife Doreen Alderman; daughter Greer, 33, with ex Barrie Buckner; and daughter Mason, 23, and son Jude, 20, with ex Camille Grammer.<\/p>\n

In past interviews, Grammer has spoken warmly about his younger children, saying they bring a renewed sense of energy and joy into his life. \u201cIt\u2019s fantastic, the energy is magnificent,\u201d he told Closer Weekly in 2018. \u201cI\u2019m as young as they are. [Kayte] has a pristine and extraordinary ability to love. She loves being pregnant and being a mom.\u201d<\/p>\n

But with age comes reflection\u2014and for Grammer, that\u2019s meant confronting the parts of fatherhood he wishes he\u2019d handled differently. Earlier this year, he told People that his demanding Hollywood career sometimes came at a cost. \u201cI have neglected a couple of the kids in my life, especially the first two,\u201d he admitted. \u201cI\u2019m trying to make up for a little of it now. I\u2019m still their dad, so you can always have [a] chance to show up.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI probably should have been a little clearer and maybe less tolerant with the older ones. I\u2019m pretty tolerant with the young ones, but I\u2019m clear about how there\u2019s certain expectations\u2026 [I tell them], \u2018What\u2019s your job in life? Showing up.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

That theme of \u201cshowing up\u201d seems to echo beyond parenting for the actor, whose faith has played a guiding role through profound loss and renewal. Grammer\u2019s memoir, Karen: A Brother Remembers, chronicles the tragic murder of his sister at age 18, as well as the deaths of his father and two brothers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the deaths occurred\u2026 hanging on to what I\u2019d always seen as a kind of gift of faith became hollow faith,\u201d he told Fox News Digital. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t working\u2026 I felt betrayed by it. And so, I sort of cursed God at one point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yet, over time, his faith found its footing again. \u201cI would advise people to step away from that. Rather than turn away from God, turn toward Him in these situations,\u201d Grammer said. \u201cBecause it isn\u2019t like God\u2019s out to get you. But it feels like that sometimes. And that was very hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grammer credits both his wife and his writing for helping restore his spiritual life. \u201cBy virtue of writing this book, [my faith] has gained a little ground,\u201d he reflected. \u201cBy virtue of meeting Kayte, by virtue of living through what we\u2019ve lived through as well, has fortified my faith.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, with baby Christopher in his arms, the actor seems to be embracing this new chapter with gratitude, faith, and the wisdom that only comes from a life fully lived\u2014and redeemed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
