\u201cHallowed be thy name\u201d<\/p>\n
Some things to think about:
\nPraise. Call him Holy. Speak the name of the Lord. What an invitation! Here prayer is to be praise\u2026 with a specific identity attached: God\u2019s.<\/p>\n
Your name is the most personal part of your identity. When you sign your name to something you are depositing a representative sign of your very self. It is the same with God. When God tells us his name he is revealing the very essence of himself. This is why the \u201cname of the Lord\u201d is so very precious. He is telling us exactly who and what He is!<\/p>\n
In the Bible God has many names, all of which reveal a specific facet of his nature.
\nYHWH \u2013 Ex. 3. \u201cThe Lord.\u201d He is the infinite eternal, self existent \u201cI AM.\u201d
\nYHWH JIREH \u2013 Gen. 22:14. \u201cThe Lord will provide\u201d He cares for his own.
\nYHWH ROPHEHA \u2013 Ex. 15:26. \u201cThe Lord our healing.\u201d He fixes brokenness.
\nYHWH NISSI \u2013 Ex. 17:15. \u201cThe Lord who wins.\u201d He battles evil.
\nYHWH MEQUADDESHKIM \u2013 Ex. 31:13. \u201cThe Lord sanctifies.\u201d He sets apart.
\nYHWH SHALOM \u2013 Judges 6:24. \u201cThe Lord is peace.\u201d He brings order.
\nYHWH TSIDKENU \u2013 Jer. 23:6. \u201cThe Lord my righteousness.\u201d He is holy!
\nYHWH SHAMMAH \u2013 Ex. 48:35. \u201cThe Lord is there.\u201d He is present.<\/p>\n
This is the essence of God\u2019s nature. He has revealed his infinite mystery to us in his Word. And in these words we can know him intimately.<\/p>\n
Some things to do:
\nThis week begin to call God by his names. Speak aspects of God\u2019s nature (a specific name) in relation to the situations in your life, your family, our church and the world that need to know that YHWH is Lord! \u201cPraise the Name of the LORD\u201d<\/p>\n
