Is it inevitable? Is it even a real phenomenon? Or is it an invention of the media \u2014 that is, corporate advertising trying to sell us things we don\u2019t need? (Not only do we not need these cosmetic and quasi-medical accoutrements, they are downright insulting and sometimes even dangerous.) <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I have been inundated lately by articles, poems, and stories about the so-called \u201cMidlife Crisis.\u201d Clearly it is a subject very much on the minds of many, many women. The writings that I have been sharing with you cover the gamut of opinions, ideas, and suggestions about coping with a Midlife Crisis, ours or someone else\u2019s. I offer them up to you to for your interest and edification.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>As always, I invite you to <a href=\"thequeenofmyself@aol.com\" target=\"_blank\">send me your stories<\/a> \u2014 experiences, advice, and inspiration to share with our community of Midlife Queens. You choose!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>xxQueen Mama Donna<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mid Life Crisis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>By Poetry Granny<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many changes are coming my way;<\/p>\n<p>A midlife crisis is what they say.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve always controlled, my feelings and such<\/p>\n<p>But here, lately, it seems like too much.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At night I can\u2019t sleep, I toss and I turn<\/p>\n<p>My body feels cold then suddenly it burns.<\/p>\n<p>I pull up the covers then throw them all back<\/p>\n<p>I think, \u201cOh, my Lord. I\u2019m under attack.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I turn on my fan to stir up the air<\/p>\n<p>My pajamas are soggy and so is my hair.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m happy, then sad; How should I feel?<\/p>\n<p>My head just keeps spinning. It\u2019s starting to reel.<\/p>\n<p>My thoughts make me ponder, why am I here?<\/p>\n<p>Do I have a purpose? What do I fear?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Who am I? Is my identity lost?<\/p>\n<p>Placed by the roadside, from whence it was tossed.<\/p>\n<p>Am I somebody\u2019s wife, or somebody\u2019s mother?<\/p>\n<p>What is my title? I feel I might smother!<\/p>\n<p>Is this the reason I can\u2019t get any sleep?<\/p>\n<p>It just makes me worry, as I start to weep.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Reality jolts me; I remember it then.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s life\u2019s little circle, as I start to grin.<\/p>\n<p>Life\u2019s ever changing ; it\u2019s never the same<\/p>\n<p>I think I\u2019ll survive this.
