\nShe holds tools for healing
\nin her magic basket.
\nShe sings her prayers.
\nMedicine Woman knows stars and sums.
\nShe listens between worlds.
\nMedicine woman cannot be domesticated, \u2028at all, ever.<\/p>\n

Even when we don’t recognize her,
\nshe is always here.
\nShe has blue butterflies and red roses in her hair and golden boots with wings.<\/p>\n

She serves revolution for breakfast.
\nShe pays for everything with cash.
\nShe paints glitter on her toe nails. \u2028Fire Engine Red.
\nJust don’t think you have her figured out.
\nShe will always surprise you
\nShe shows up in a crimson dress
\nsewn with white dogwood bodice \u2028and bayleaf hem.
\nShe is the sound of bells,
\nShe may let her armpit hair grow.
\nShe is the place within us that wants it all. And wants to give it all up.
\nShe swims naked in the ocean.
\nShe rides motorcycles up the coast.
\nShe paints, writes, dances, dreams
\nand has multiple income streams.
\nShe is medicine woman.
\nShe heals that which is unexpressed in us.
\nShe asks the question – Who are you not being?
\nHer life is her own. She is on her own.
\nAnd she likes it that way.
\nShe is the keeper of the red key
\nand the spinner of the red thread
\nand the weaver of the red tent.
\nShe is your story-keeper and your
\ndream-maker upper.
\nAnd don’t be surprised if she asks you to
\nmiracle tea and you find yourself
\ndrunk with aliveness
\nand honeycomb cake.
