<\/span> <\/h2>\nWhat an extraordinarily exciting and gorgeous time of the
\nyear spring is. Life is bursting out all over. Buds, blossoms and babies
\neverywhere! Is it any wonder that May is the month of the Goddess? And of the
\nMother? Like the Great Creatrix Goddess, mothers are the progenitors of life
\nand the providers of sustenance for the living. <\/p>\n
In this season of teeming birth and growth, we honor the
\nMother Goddesses, Mother Earth and our own mothers, as well as our own
\nmothering selves. <\/p>\n
We don’t need to have given
\nbirth to a baby to be a mother, and in fact, with easy access to birth control
\nand abortion nearly one quarter of the Baby Boom generation chose not<\/i> to bear children. <\/span><\/p>\nThe archetypal Mother is
\nbiological parent as well as the Mother of Invention. She produces and
\nreproduces — be they children, books, businesses, careers or political causes.
\nThen She labors endlessly to nourish and sustain the fruits of Her passion: Her
\nfamily, Her business, Her home, Her job, Her projects, Her clients, Her
\nstudents, Her community.<\/p>\n
Full with nutriment, She is
\nthe ultimate cosmic creator, nursemaid, caretaker, caregiver and provider. She
\nis committed to the well-being of those around Her, and the daily domestic and
\nproductive concerns of the material world are Hers. Endlessly reliable,
\ndependable, solid and sure, She is the woman whose work is never done. <\/p>\n
And now, as we enter into the
\nsovereignty of our middle years, our active mothering days done, and done very
\nwell, indeed, we are called upon to extend our mothering instincts to include
\nour Selves. <\/p>\n
Now is the time for us to be
\nour own Mother. To nurture our own well-being. To hold our deepest needs in
\ntender trust. To care for our personal concerns and inspire and encourage the
\ndevelopment of our best potential. To honor our purpose. To celebrate our
\npassion. And to embrace our power.<\/p>\n
I, Queen Mama Donna, do hereby declare and
\ndecree that Every Day be Queen Mother’s Day!<\/p>\n
The Queen is firm in the defense of Her time, Her space,
\nHer boundaries, Her priorities, Her preferences, Her ethics, Her needs, Her
\ndesires, Her safety and Her sense of well-being.<\/b><\/p>\n
