In a recent interview with Family Circle magazine she offended some parents of addicted kids by saying, &#8220;I&#8217;m not a perfect mom, but my kids haven&#8217;t been arrested, in rehab or kicked out of school, so I must be doing something right!&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 As a psychotherapist and recovery coach and someone who understands addiction personally and professionally, if you have not been touched by the ravages of addiction, many people just don&#8217;t get it; and it appears Kathie Lee Gifford may be one of them.\u00a0 Angry parents who get the disease of addiction slammed her Facebook page directing with one parent calling her a &#8220;thoughtless human being&#8221;, for her in-sensitive comment.<\/p>\n<p>This speaks to my belief that celebrities\u00a0\u00a0 have the unique\u00a0 opportunity to educate the masses about the drug addiction epidemic that surrounds us and is growing every day.\u00a0 Celebrities also have the opportunity to\u00a0 be positive role models and may want to reconsider\u00a0 glamorizing\u00a0 drinking cocktails, especially in the wee morning hours\u00a0 either.\u00a0 I&#8217;m just saying&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sherry Gaba LCSW, Psychotherapist, Life &amp; Recovery Coach is featured Celebrity Rehab on VH1.\u00a0Sherry is the author of \u201cThe Law of Sobriety\u201d which uses the law of attraction to recover from any addiction.
