Last week on Celebrity Rehab, <\/i>you saw me and Dr. Drew
\nand everyone else who has been working with Jason Davis very passionately try
\nto convince him to transfer to an in-patient facility. He refused. In his
\none-on-one session with Dr. Drew, he also confessed that he really likes to
\nstir up trouble, get people upset and then sit back and watch the sparks fly.
\nHe said sober living simply isn’t exciting enough for him. And that, of course,
\nis why we are all so worried for him.<\/span><\/p>\n

            <\/span>Even when you’re a millionaire, even
\nwhen your hobby is starting up companies (as Jason says his is), real life just
\nisn’t exciting every moment of very day. If you need to be constantly,
\nendlessly stimulated, real life is not going to satisfy you. That’s why Jason
\nis a heroin addict–when real life isn’t enough, he can move into high life,
\nparty life, and take himself far outside of real life. If he can’t kick his
\naddiction to endless excitement, he’s never going to be able to kick his drug
\nhabit either. <\/span><\/p>\n

            <\/span>One of the points of therapy in rehab
\nis to help us learn to live in the real world, as it is, without the need to
\nconstantly stimulate ourselves. Sometimes the real world is exciting all on its
\nown. Sometimes it’s not. We have to learn to accept it both ways.<\/span><\/p>\n

            <\/span>The Law of Sobriety can really help
\nwith this. It’s about finding your true passion and learning how to make that
\nthe focus of your life, rather than seeking endless (but transitory) excitement
\nand stimulation. It’s also about learning to be grateful for the life you have.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

            <\/span>Last week, Jason sat in a room full
\nof people who all told him how much they cared about him and wanted to give him
\nthe best possible chance for a full, sober life. That’s a lot to be grateful
\nfor. I’m sorry he didn’t see it that way. <\/span><\/p>\n
