Its big pictures offer windows into the small places we never see.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>His <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/bigpicture\/2008\/12\/the_year_2008_in_photographs_p.html\">year-end retrospective<\/a> is a masterwork, something to give yourself time to gaze at and think through.
