{"id":1290,"date":"2011-12-15T09:43:42","date_gmt":"2011-12-15T14:43:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/sweetshore\/?p=1290"},"modified":"2011-12-15T09:49:30","modified_gmt":"2011-12-15T14:49:30","slug":"josephs-lullaby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/sweetshore\/2011\/12\/josephs-lullaby.html","title":{"rendered":"Joseph&#8217;s Lullaby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Contrary to popular opinion, I have not died and gone to heaven. \u00a0I went to Hawaii (which is pretty close, I&#8217;ll admit).<\/p>\n<p>Had a great visit with my mom, taking her to see all of her friends that she doesn&#8217;t see very often. \u00a0We visited a couple of hospitals and went to the homes of some shut-ins or near shut-ins and everyone was so happy to see her.<\/p>\n<p>I actually spent 10 minutes at the beach this trip, watching the sunset.<\/p>\n<p>Now it&#8217;s back to reality and the blessings of every day life.<\/p>\n<p>I thought I&#8217;d share a different Christmas song with you every day between now and Christmas. \u00a0This one&#8217;s called &#8220;Joseph&#8217;s Lullaby&#8221; and it&#8217;s worth taking a couple of minutes to watch and listen to.<\/p>\n<p>Since the Bible only mentions Joseph a few times, I think he&#8217;s often overlooked in terms of his importance, personality and spirituality. \u00a0Not only did God choose Mary to be the mother of his Son, he gave the job of raising Jesus to Joseph. \u00a0He must have been an extraordinary man. \u00a0I believe he loved Jesus with an unfailing love. \u00a0I believe he loved Mary with all his heart. \u00a0He was used of God for a miraculous purpose and he obeyed the calling on his life and was faithful to it.<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t know much about Jesus&#8217; childhood, but we do know He was the son of a carpenter. \u00a0How many hours they must have spent together building, talking, playing. \u00a0Wouldn&#8217;t you have loved to hear just one of their conversations? \u00a0Maybe that&#8217;s something I&#8217;ll ask about when I get to heaven&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the song&#8230;10 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Joseph&#039;s Lullaby\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/he9BdHNrXTs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Contrary to popular opinion, I have not died and gone to heaven. \u00a0I went to Hawaii (which is pretty close, I&#8217;ll admit).
