Over on Twitter pastors are announcing the dollar amounts that their churches raised for Haiti&nbsp;and they&#8217;re getting loads of retweets and accolades. It&#8217;s Festivus and they&#8217;re reveling in their feats of strength thinly disguised as acts of righteousness. They&#8217;ve just got to let their left hand know what their right hand is doing on this one!<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>How can we get our egos stroked if we give in secret? The sermon on the mount was such a buzzkill.&nbsp; <\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><font><em>Matthew 6 <\/em><\/font><span class=\"crossverse\"><font><em>&nbsp;<sup>1<\/sup>&#8220;Be careful not to do your &#8216;acts of righteousness&#8217; before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.&nbsp;<\/em><\/font><font><em>&nbsp;<sup>2<\/sup>&#8220;So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men.
