The beloved actor, comedian, and former host of America\u2019s Funniest People admitted he was stunned when he first heard the news.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first thing I said to them was, \u2018Wait a minute \u2014 cancer?\u2019\u201d he shared on Today. \u201cI was feeling like I got punched in the stomach because it never happens to you. You always hear about it happening to someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His first symptom appeared after what seemed like a common cold. \u201cThe lymph nodes in my groin swelled up immediately. I thought, \u2018Wow, I\u2019m either really sick, or my body\u2019s really reacting to something,\u2019\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout his cancer journey, Coulier leaned on close friends, especially his longtime \u201cFull House\u201d co-star John Stamos. Stamos gave fans encouraging updates along the way, sharing, \u201cI go see him. He\u2019s doing great. We have a couple shows we\u2019re doing together\u2026 it\u2019s just fun to spend time with him, and he\u2019s doing great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stamos admitted that after the painful loss of their friend Bob Saget, the thought of losing Coulier was too much to bear. \u201cDave and I talk a lot,\u201d he told Us Weekly. \u201cWe lost Bob, and I couldn\u2019t bear losing Dave, so I\u2019ve been with him a lot during this cancer journey of his.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Their bond even became a source of controversy when Stamos wore a bald cap to cheer up his friend during treatment. While some criticized the gesture, Coulier defended him: \u201cIt\u2019s our friendship (me and John) and this is how we are handling a very tough time. I\u2019m a comedian and humor is what drives me. John knows how to cheer me up and I laughed out loud when he arrived wearing a bald cap \u2014 being a true loving friend and brother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>By March 2025, Coulier received the life-changing news that he was cancer-free. \u201cOne of the few times in my life when \u2018zero\u2019 has been a great number to hear,\u201d he told Parade.<\/p>\n<p>That same day, he became a grandfather. His son Luc and wife Alex welcomed their baby boy, Chance Lee, on March 27. \u201cI got the good news the day the baby was born,\u201d Coulier shared on the How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast. \u201cSo I heard the news and I was so excited, and then Luc called us and he said, \u2018Hey, the baby just was born.\u2019 And so, I mean, it was an amazing day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, with his health restored and a new grandson to love, Coulier is embracing life with joy.
