Eric Stonestreet, best known for his Emmy-winning role as Cameron Tucker on ABC’s hit sitcom Modern Family<\/em>, has tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Lindsay Schweitzer. The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony at their newly built home in Kansas City, Missouri.<\/p>\n

“It’s my birthday and guess what I got,” Stonestreet wrote on Instagram, sharing a set of joyful photos from their big day. The post drew warm responses from fans and friends alike, including his on-screen husband Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who joked, “Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite! I love you both! I’m so happy for you!!!!”<\/p>\n

The wedding fulfilled a dream Stonestreet had shared back in July, when he told People<\/em> magazine that the couple had been building their Kansas City home with the goal of hosting their wedding there. “We got engaged and then all of a sudden got an opportunity to build a house, and I thought, ‘No better way to start a relationship than literally building a foundation,'” he explained.<\/p>\n

Stonestreet proposed to Schweitzer in 2021 after five years of dating. Reflecting on the decision, he admitted, “I just knew I wasn’t going to find a better partner in life than Lindsay. It just made the most sense. And I’d taken my sweet old time. Everybody else \u2014 let me put it this way \u2014 that knows Lindsay was like, ‘What are you waiting for?’ So, it was time.”<\/p>\n

The couple first met in 2016 during the Big Slick charity weekend in Kansas City, an event that raises money for Children’s Mercy Hospital. For several years, they navigated a long-distance relationship while Stonestreet continued filming Modern Family<\/em> in Los Angeles. After the show concluded in 2020, Stonestreet moved back home to Kansas City, where the couple laid down roots.<\/p>\n

In interviews, the actor has been candid about how much life in the Midwest contrasts with Hollywood. Appearing on In Depth with Graham Bensinger<\/em> last year, Stonestreet said the move gave him perspective.<\/p>\n

“What I realized it does is it highlights everything great about our business, the entertainment business,” he said. “And it highlights all the d—–baggery of our business. It amplifies it. Because I’m here, I’m dealing with people from here. I’m going into the store and having all these authentic, real moments.”<\/p>\n

He added that while there were perks to living in Los Angeles, like being offered exotic fruits on set, it never compared to the authenticity of home. “It’s really fun. It just amplifies it. It’s like leaving [Kansas City] and going back and doing something is almost more fun than it was living there, doing it.”<\/p>\n

Now, with Modern Family<\/em> behind him, Stonestreet is embracing a quieter life in Kansas City with Schweitzer by his side. Their wedding marks the beginning of a new chapter rooted not in Hollywood lights, but in family, faith, and community.<\/p>\n
