Their daughter, 22-year-old Carys Douglas, just graduated from Brown University \u2014 and her proud parents were right there to cheer her on!<\/p>\n<p>In a sweet photo shared on Instagram, the couple is seen kissing Carys on both cheeks as she beams in a white dress. Zeta-Jones captioned the moment: \u201cThe night before graduation!!!! We are both such proud parents right now!! It\u2019s only just begun!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The graduation festivities took place at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island \u2014 a prestigious Ivy League school. Carys earned a degree in Film and International Relations. She\u2019s the youngest child of the famous couple, who have been married since 2000.<\/p>\n<p>Zeta-Jones, 55, posted even more glimpses into the celebration on her Instagram Stories, including a decorated cake that read \u201cCongratulations Graduation Class of 25,\u201d and photos of Carys with her classmates. Their dad, Michael Douglas, 80, couldn\u2019t be more proud.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese kids are extraordinary beings,\u201d he shared in a recent interview with <em>The Telegraph.<\/em> \u201cThey\u2019ve been a joy to raise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Douglas, best known for his roles in &#8220;Wall Street&#8221; and &#8220;Fatal Attraction,&#8221; has been open about how being a dad later in life has changed his perspective. \u201cMy career was the most important thing in my life, followed by marriage and children. And it\u2019s completely reversed now,\u201d he told AARP The Magazine. \u201cI never anticipated starting a family and the joy of raising kids at my age.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also shared a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.familytoday.com\/family\/michael-douglas-says-it-was-rough-being-mistaken-for-his-kids-grandparent\/\">humorous moment<\/a> from one of his visits to Brown University. During one parent\u2019s day, someone mistook him for Carys\u2019 grandfather. \u201cThis is not grandfather\u2019s day, this is parents\u2019 day. I say, \u2018I am a parent,\u2019\u201d Douglas recalled. \u201cThat was a rough one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the occasional awkward moment, Douglas says he\u2019s in a good place. \u201cCatherine and I have been together \u2014 it\u2019ll be 25 years this year,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s been a good ride\u2026 I\u2019m really backing off and smelling the roses a little more, traveling more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for Zeta-Jones, she couldn\u2019t hide her joy watching her daughter take this next step. \u201cWe are both such proud parents,\u201d she wrote again in celebration. \u201cIt\u2019s only just begun!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the end, it wasn\u2019t just a graduation.
