CeCe Winans is a dominant voice in Gospel music, with her song \u201cCome Jesus Come\u201d hitting number one on the charts. But in addition to being a successful Gospel singer, Winans is also a parent, and she recently joined CBN to discuss parenting and the one thing she\u2019d do differently. The 60-year-old mother of two stated that generation faith is \u201ccrucial.\u201d \u201c[Jesus] finished it on the cross \u2014 the availability of salvation \u2014\u00a0but He uses us and our children and our children\u2019s children to continue to win the world to Him,\u201d she said. She cited Deuteronomy 6:6-7, which states to \u201cimpress [the Commandments] on your children.\u201d<\/p>\n

But, like all parents, Winan did share that she has one big regret. \u201cThe one thing I would do differently if I had the chance to go back and raise my children again would be to invite the Holy Spirit into every moment. \u2018Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it,\u2019\u201d she said, quoting Proverbs 22:6. She stated the Holy Spirit knows \u201cevery detail\u201d of your children and that the Spirit has to be invited in. \u201cAllow them to see you pray \u2014 \u2018Lord, give me wisdom on what to do about this.\u2019 \u2026 Invite Him in more, so that they can be used to following the Holy Spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a sentiment she shared on TBN\u2019s Better Together TV. \u201cProbably one of my only regrets in raising my kids, I did not consult the Holy Spirit enough on each one. I mean, you kind of just do the general, we\u2019re doing this, we\u2019re going to church\u2026 and praise God, his mercy and grace has covered us\u2026but when you look back, it\u2019s like, man, if I would\u2019ve just took out time and said Holy Spirit, what should I do here?\u201d she said. She also said that it\u2019s important for mothers to prioritize their time with God. \u201cSo we can\u2019t allow even motherhood to get in the way of our time with the Lord,\u201d she stressed.<\/p>\n

Speaking with CBN, she shared her gratitude for the faithful example set while she was growing up. \u201cThey didn\u2019t just teach us the Word \u2014 they lived it in front of us, I would not be who I am today \u2014 strong in my faith \u2014 I would not without that family foundation, without them making us go to church, even when we didn\u2019t want to,\u201d she said. She shared that she had parents who \u201chonored God.\u201d \u00a0\u201cBecause of that, I was able to be bold; I was never confused about what holiness looks like. That helped me with peer-pressure. \u2026 It prepares your children to be who God has called them to be with no apologies.\u201d She stated that boldness should be used for God. \u201cIt\u2019s through our boldness that God is glorified.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
