Alexa PenaVega of Spy Kids<\/em> fame posted<\/a> a touching tribute one year from the day her daughter was stillborn. \u201cThis was the most painful moment I have ever experienced,\u201d wrote PenaVega alongside a devastating image of her holding her stillborn daughter. \u201cI remember it feeling so hard to breathe. Such a deep aching pain\u2026 How was this real? It didn\u2019t feel real. Every emotion flooded in at once.\u201d Despite the heartbreaking loss, PenaVega said she and her husband, Carlos, felt \u201ca supernatural peace.\u201d \u201cIt was all out of our control,\u201d she added. \u201cWe had to give it all over to God. The burden was too heavy for us to carry so He took the weight off of us and draped us in His peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite their daughter\u2019s death, PenaVega stated she had given hope to others. \u201cOver this last year we have watched LIFE come out of her life. We watched people heal because of Indy. We watched grief lifted because of Indy. We watched relationships be restored\u2026 God gave her life SO MUCH FRUIT \u2026 so much meaning and purpose.\u201d She took comfort in the fact that Indy \u201cis celebrating with Jesus\u201d while acknowledging their family\u2019s own grief. She referenced Jeremiah 29:11, which states, \u201c\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the\u00a0Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.\u201d<\/p>\n

PenaVega\u2019s feed was flooded with support. \u201cGod is good. Continued Prayers for peace and understanding for you all,\u201d wrote the Great American Family Network. \u201cI\u2019m so incredibly sorry,\u201d wrote pro-life activist Abby Johnson. \u201cSending prayers.\u201d Many others shared their own experiences of losing their children in similar situations and offered consolation or thanked PenaVega for her openness.<\/p>\n

PenaVega and her husband announced the loss last year<\/a>. \u201cAfter a beautiful and peaceful delivery our daughter \u2018Indy\u2019 was born at rest. It has been a painful journey. But in the pain we have found peace. God continues to comfort and hold us in His arms,\u201d wrote the couple<\/a>. PenaVega made another post<\/a> wishing Indy a happy birthday. The post featured her and Carlos\u2019s three surviving children holding up an image of Indy. \u201cHappy heavenly birthday Indy girl. Our little world changer. Psalm 34:18,\u201d wrote PenaVega. Psalm 34:18 reads, \u201cThe\u00a0Lord\u00a0is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a previous interview with Stream Studios, the couple reflected on their grief. \u201cIt\u2019s still painful. And what I\u2019m about to say is going to sound crazy, but we felt so blessed through it,\u201d said Alexa<\/a>. \u201cHer life has had so much fruit in just moments of being with her. After we lost her, I was concerned that in time I wouldn\u2019t be OK. That even though I\u2019m OK right now \u2014 and Lord you\u2019re sustaining me, everything is good \u2014 but what\u2019s going to happen a couple weeks from now? What\u2019s going to happen a month from now?\u201d She shared a vision she had at the time of Indy with God while He and His angels wept for the PenaVega family. \u201cEven though [God] knew that she was fully alive with him and great and happy.
