Country music star and “Yellowstone” actress Lainey Wilson is officially engaged, and the story behind her proposal is as heartwarming as her songs.<\/p>\n

Wilson recently revealed that her fianc\u00e9, former NFL quarterback Devlin \u201cDuck\u201d Hodges, popped the question in February during a surprise visit to the George Jones estate. The couple had been planning to tour the property\u2014listed by one of Hodges\u2019 real estate friends\u2014when Hodges orchestrated the unexpected moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had talked myself into thinking he was going to do it that day,\u201d Wilson said in a candid interview with News Channel 5 Nashville. \u201cThen I talked myself out of it because I thought, \u2018Man, I sure would be upset if I talked myself into this and that don\u2019t happen.\u2019\u201d But as soon as they pulled up, Wilson said she realized something special was happening. \u201cHe had it all set up. He had the candles and the picture frames, and it could not have been more perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilson, 31, shared the moment on Instagram with a sweet caption: \u201c4x4xU forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although the couple has yet to dive deep into wedding planning, Wilson says she\u2019s envisioning a low-key celebration. \u201cWe really need to sit down and make that a priority,\u201d she admitted. \u201cBut I\u2019m sure that it\u2019ll be something that\u2019s just very, very simple.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their love story has been unfolding for several years. Wilson and Hodges met through mutual friends and began dating in 2021. \u201cWe went to this old place called Silverados, and it had free beer and wine from 5 to 10 p.m.,\u201d Wilson recalled to People. \u201cI was like, \u2018This boy likes to ball on a budget too. This is gonna work out.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Though they only went public in 2023, Wilson says they knew early on they were meant to be. \u201cHonestly, as a joke, right when we first started dating… I had texted him some big rings,\u201d she said. \u201cHe was like, \u2018Oh, Lord. I better start saving now.\u2019\u201d Years later, Hodges took those designs and created a custom engagement ring.<\/p>\n

More than just romantic, their relationship is also a true partnership rooted in support and shared dreams. Hodges, who played for the Steelers and the Rams before transitioning to a career in real estate, understands the demands of a public life. \u201cHe knows what it\u2019s like chasing a dream,\u201d Wilson shared on The Bobby Bones Show. \u201cHe\u2019s one of my biggest cheerleaders.\u201d<\/p>\n

That support means the world to the country singer, especially as her career continues to soar. \u201cI always say that he’s the kind of dude that will high-five you on the way in the door and high-five you on the way out,\u201d Wilson told Fox News Digital<\/em>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s clear their love is both grounded and joyful\u2014a blend of laughter, faith, and a shared vision for the future. \u201cWe knew pretty much immediately,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cIt just felt that natural.\u201d<\/p>\n
