Dolly Parton turned heads on Thanksgiving when she performed at the halftime show of the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders football game. The country legend, 77, stunned fans after she rocked the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders outfit, which consisted of tiny white shorts and a tied crop top. She also added a transparent, sequined bodysuit underneath the outfit to add more coverage. In a recent interview with Page Six, Parton described what gave her the idea to wear the outfit and how her husband, Carl Dean, reacted.<\/p>\n

“I was doing it to be funny. Thought it might cute to do it since I’m there with all those Dallas cheerleaders. Of course, everyone always loves them. My husband as well. I thought, \u2018If I can, if I could pull this off, that\u2019d be a cool little thing to do.\u2019 And I thought, \u2018Well, I\u2019m going to give it a try,'” she explained. “I thought most people would excuse me if it didn’t turn out. I thought they’d just think I was some older woman making a bad mistake. Or I thought, well, maybe it’d just be something cool to do. It turned out better than I thought it was going to. I just wanted to dress like the cheerleaders. Why not? I’m there! I was thrilled to death that it got such press. I wasn’t expecting all that, but I was pleased,” she admitted.<\/p>\n

Parton, who has been married to her husband since 1966, had a different reaction to her outfit.\u00a0 “He had seen it, and I did wear it for him,” the “9 to 5” singer shared, explaining that she’d had fittings before the performance. “He’d say something like, \u2018Well it\u2019s a little short, don’t you think?’ I said, \u2018No! It’s not as short as theirs.’ Or whatever.” Parton clarified that Dean was saying those comments in a light-hearted way by saying, “He was just being funny. I think he thought \u2014 because everybody’s making a to-do over it \u2014 he thought, well, maybe you shouldn’t be showing your butt at that age.
