Longtime Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was moved to tears while he confirmed that he will no longer be coaching the team, thanking his wife for supporting his throughout his career. During the January 10th press conference, the 72-year-old head coach announced that he would be stepping down after coaching 14 seasons for the organization. He confirmed that he would be transitioning into the role as an advisor for the team. While addressing the change, Carroll was brought to tears as he thanked his wife, Glena Goranson, for her support over the years. \u201cI\u2019ve been blessed with, like, the rarest of best friends and mentor, loving partner, the angel in my life,\u201d Carroll said before becoming choked up with emotion. \u201cThis is worth crying for,” he said, trying to collect himself. \u201cGlena, nobody would ever understand how significant. She had been through all of the stuff that we\u2019ve been through and how important she is. She\u2019s just been an angel in my life, and I owe you everything.\u201d<\/p>\n
