Rich, who released his new single, \u201cThe Man,\u201d recently revealed that he would make significant sacrifices for his children, including giving up his music career. He told Fox News Digitial, \u201cRaising your kids is the most important job a man or woman has if they have kids. Spending time with my two boys, teaching them about the world they\u2019re looking at today, getting them ready for what they\u2019re going to run into when they become young men, that is job No.1.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rich continued, \u201cI would never sing another note if you said, \u2018Give up your music, give up your kids.\u2019 Are you kidding? Not even a question. There\u2019s nothing I would not do for my two kids.\u201d The country musician shares two young boys with his wife Joan, Cash and Colt. He said Colt was named after American businessman Samuel Colt. The singer additionally noted he shifted his \u201cAmerican dream\u201d from being a country star to being a father to his children.<\/p>\n<p>Rich explained, \u201cI spent all of my 20s and 30s; that\u2019s all I cared about. It was just getting out, having hit songs, selling millions of records, doing big concerts. That was my focus, my American dream. But then my kids were born, and I\u2019m like, \u2018You know what? I\u2019m still going to do those things. But that is no longer my main focus.\u2019\u201d Rich added it\u2019s a \u201cgood thing\u201d his sons don\u2019t think of their dad as a big country music star. He added that he enjoys going to their baseball games, school plays and helping them with their homework.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/essBuLZ8hng?si=bM-eXlcsuqtnKRdv\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He concluded, \u201cWhen I shift down into show mode, and they come out on the road, they come to see a concert, then their eyes bug out, they go, \u2018Wow, we forgot. Dad can do that.\u2019 But as soon as the show is over, I downshift right back into being their dad.\u201d When it comes to new music, the country star has turned to his late grandfather for inspiration. With his new single, \u201cThe Man,\u201d Rich honored his grandfather, a World War II veteran.<\/p>\n<p>Rich told Fox News Digital, \u201cI had the great pleasure and really the advantage, in my opinion, of spending a lot of my life around this old man,\u00a0World War II veteran.\u00a0Quite the stories that he told. I grew up knowing the gritty details of what he did in World War II. That\u2019s become a big part of why I feel so strongly about our military, is knowing what he went through. I mean, it was awful.&#8221; \u201cThe Good Lord And The Man\u201d crooner recalled his late grandfather\u2019s tumultuous journey after World War II ended. Rich said the veteran had PTSD and was \u201chooked on morphine\u201d for a few years after the war.<\/p>\n<p>Rich hopes \u201cThe Man\u201d will leave a lasting impact on the future generation as he remembers the \u201cgreatest generation\u201d of\u00a0World War II veterans.\u00a0He added, \u201cI think the song is very important. I think it reminds people again of what true American greatness looks like.
