Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. shared how his 17-month-old son, Zydn, brings purpose and joy to his life. He told PEOPLE Magazine, <\/em>\u201cMy son makes me smile every single day. He\u2019s just such a blessing. It\u2019s a blessing to have a little boy and be able to see so much of myself in him. He makes me smile no matter what\u2019s going on in my life. He\u2019s brightened up my entire summer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The wide receiver continued<\/a>, \u201cAnd just being able to play football again, being out on the field running. It\u2019s a very good feeling and a good time for me.\u201d Beckham shared pictures on his Instagram that showed him and Zydn on the field. He wrote, \u201cTold my son these the times that we\u2019ll never get back again. Had to take a break, but now it\u2019s time, and I\u2019m back again. They won\u2019t get to see my back again. Until I\u2019m passing em. So now, only time I see my comp is when I\u2019m lapping em.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beckham added, \u201cZydn and I haven\u2019t gotten out too much because we\u2019ve been in training camp. It\u2019s been long, gritty days without a lot of free time. He\u2019s at home waiting for me now.\u201d Still, with the help of his parents, Beckham goes to work excited to see his son when he gets home. He shared, \u201cLuckily, my mom and pops are in town. So, they\u2019re with him during the day as I work, and then I get to spend my time with them. And as soon as\u00a0 I get home, he\u2019ll come give me a hug or lay on me. Words don\u2019t do justice for how great that feeling he gives me is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beckham\u2019s mother, Heather Van Norman, said, \u201cBeing a father has definitely settled him. Zydn is like his light. He\u2019s always loved children. But being with Zydn brings out all the goodness in Odell. It\u2019s really fun to watch.\u201d However, fatherhood isn\u2019t any different just because he\u2019s an NFL dad. Beckham Jr. expressed, \u201cLast night, he was waking up. He doesn\u2019t always sleep through the night, and sometimes it can be tough. That\u2019s probably the toughest thing about raising a toddler.\u201d<\/p>\n
