He shared his three-year exit plan with <em>British GQ<\/em> for their June cover story. The 67-year-old said he plans to shut down his production company, sell his half of mezcal company Dos Hombres and move to a new country with his spouse.<\/p>\n<p>France has been considered a possible place to call home for at least six months. Cranston has dreams of a small village where they can cook, learn a new language, grow a garden together, and read. The \u201cBreaking Bad\u201d star admitted he wanted to devote more time to his wife of 34 years, Robin Dearden. The couple said \u201cI do\u201d in 1989.<\/p>\n<p>Cranston told <em>British GQ<\/em>, \u201cI want to change the paradigm once again. For the last 24 years, Robin has led her life holding onto my tail. She\u2019s been the plus one; she\u2019s been the wife of a celebrity. She\u2019s had to pivot and adjust her life based on mine. She has tremendous benefits from it, but we\u2019re uneven. I want to level that out. She deserves it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He detailed how the idea of slowing down together excited him, sharing, \u201cI want to have that experience. I want to go for day trips, have the fire in the fireplace, drink wine with new friends, and not read scripts. It\u2019s not going to be like, \u2018Oh, I\u2019ll read and see what I\u2019m going to do.\u2019 No, it\u2019s a pause. It\u2019s a stop. I won\u2019t be thinking about work; I\u2019m not going to be taking phone calls.\u201d Cranston also shared that he and his wife had been in therapy since before they married.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DndBA3afoy4\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cI don\u2019t want the obstacle in my real life. You want to be obstacle-free in real life. But it takes work to notice when an obstacle is forming. He continued, \u201cI look at it like the warning light going off on your dashboard. It\u2019s telling you, \u2018You might want to pay attention to this.\u2019\u00a0I love my wife, and we want to go the distance, but I want to do it in a healthy way. I don\u2019t want to just be with her. I don\u2019t want to just have the two of us go into a restaurant, and no one says a word.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cranston looked back on his life. According to the outlet, his father was an aspiring but \u201cfailed\u201d star. The patriarch left Cranston\u2019s mother for another woman when Cranston was just 11 years old. The family\u2019s Los Angeles home was foreclosed, and Cranston\u2019s mother suffered from alcoholism. The matriarch married twice before she later passed away from Alzheimer\u2019s. The outlet described how Cranston was sent away to live with his grandparents after his parents\u2019 breakup. After he moved back in with his mother, he took odd jobs like working as a house painter.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the 1980s, Cranston immersed himself in acting, taking ad work and participating in weekly classes with Los Angeles improv coach Harvey Lembeck, who originally had Robin Williams as a student. After 10 years of estrangement, Cranston reconciled with his father, but as Cranston\u00a0starred in \u201cMalcolm in the Middle,\u201d\u00a0his father began asking for loans that would never be repaid, the outlet shared. Cranston\u2019s father died in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>As Cranston looks to the future, one thing is sure for him. He told the outlet, \u201cIt\u2019s about taking a chance.
