Former \u201cLois and Clark\u201d star Dean Cain is the latest Hollywood celebrity to leave California due to high taxes, rampant homelessness, and soft-on-crime policies he said are driving away anyone who can afford to join the migration.<\/p>\n<p>Cain recently told Fox News\u2019 Brian Kilmeade, \u201cI love California. It\u2019s the most beautiful state. Everything\u2019s wonderful about it except for the policies. The policies are just terrible. The fiscal policies, the soft-on-crime policies, and the homelessness policies. The things that our leaders in California have been doing have driven out anyone who can really afford to get out. People are flocking out of there in droves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In March, Cain listed his Malibu home, selling the property for $6.25 million in May. Then, he moved to Las Vegas, where he says lower taxes, less traffic, and all the fun things to do have made life much better for him and his family.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PWgrABiPMc8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Cain said, \u201cI\u2019ve been here for two weeks now, and I can tell you, it\u2019s a smart move. My son is ten times happier here in Las Vegas. If I wanted to do anything out of Malibu, it took me 45 minutes to an hour to get anywhere. Here, the longest I\u2019m driving is 20 minutes.\u201d The lack of state income tax in Nevada is another perk for Cain. The movie industry has also echoed the high-cost sentiment as several filmmakers turn to states like Texas, Georgia, Louisiana and others to make films.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Wahlberg is another Hollywood star who moved to Las Vegas for better opportunities, praising the decision for giving his children a \u201cchance to thrive.\u201d In March, he told Fox News Digital, \u201cI moved to Nevada where, after the gubernatorial election, hopefully, it will go to legislation and get a bill passed so we can get a tax credit for the state, build a state of the art studio here and make this Hollywood 2.0.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cain said he \u201c100 percent\u201d sees the potential for the film industry to expand into Nevada as well. \u201cObviously, Mark Wahlberg is a huge star and drives a huge number of dollars to the films that he does. Bless him for it. I think he\u2019s done something very smart for his family,\u201d he said. Cain continued, \u201cMark did a smart thing, and hopefully, I believe I\u2019ve done a very, very smart thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Matthew McConaughey is another celebrity who left California to move to Texas for a better life for his family.
