In an interview with Fox News Digital, the Christian pop singer, who recently debuted his new single, \u201cMy Light,\u201d shared how he\u2019s leaned on God throughout his life.<\/p>\n<p>Dixon said, \u201cTo me, faith is everything. It helps me in the small things and the big things. And I believe that God cares about both.\u201d He continued, \u201cIt\u2019s carried me through the hard times and the fun times. I\u2019m just so thankful that I also have a wife who believes what I do, and we are able to come together. And she\u2019s just that extra sauce on top to help you get through. And we also have twins as well. We welcomed twins in 2020. And so that was a crazy year, to say the least.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cBut we\u2019ve just been loving life. Faith is honestly the light that gets us through.\u201d In 2012, Dixon met his wife, Annie Coggeshall, when he was a contestant on season 11 of \u201cAmerican Idol.\u201d Dixon placed seventh on the show and proposed to Coggeshall in September 2015. The couple tied the knot in January 2016 in a romantic Nashville ceremony. <em>People Magazine<\/em> said the couple took communion and lit a unity candle. In March 2020, they announced that they were expecting twins.<\/p>\n<p>However, the couple\u2019s faith was tested on Annie\u2019s delivery day. Dixon shared with Fox News Digital that while Annie\u2019s pregnancy with their twin daughters was \u201cgreat\u201d and \u201csmooth,\u201d complications arose after she entered labor. He said, \u201cWhen it came time to meet the girls, we had to punt and go to a C-section. And since the birthing process had already started for one of them, her little body shut down. So she wasn\u2019t breathing. No pulse. Not the way you want to meet your kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/l3Fl8ngQzWk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cAnd so it was kind of that, like, faith or fear moment, like, do you practice what you preach or do we panic, freak out, whatever. And, like I said earlier, I\u2019m so grateful to have a wife who believes the same way I do. And even more so, she challenges me and just brings me up. And so right there in the hospital, we\u2019re in the operating room, but we\u2019re praying. Just like, \u2018God, we believe, we\u2019ve seen You do it before in different areas in our life. We believe that You\u2019ll do it again.\u2019 So whether He reached down directly and touched little Dior, she\u2019s happy and healthy. You\u2019d never know if there are any complications. We\u2019re so grateful. She\u2019s our little miracle baby.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After the medical team resuscitated Ava Dior, she spent numerous days in the NICU before she could go home. Dixon shared how parenting has transformed his relationship with God, saying, \u201cI remember being in the hospital, meeting my twins for the first time, and just having this overwhelming feeling of, man, there\u2019s nothing I wouldn\u2019t do for these kids. I just met these little humans, and there\u2019s nothing I wouldn\u2019t do.
