The 43-year-old \u201cGuardians of the Galaxy\u201d star spoke with Drew Barrymore on her talk show about a personal low point that evolved into the greatest gift.<\/p>\n<p>He told Barrymore, \u201cI met Katherine, now it\u2019s been five, maybe six years ago, and God has a fast-forward button. When it\u2019s right, boom. You get hit. You fall in love. You get married. Now we have two beautiful daughters to add to my family, and it feels really great.\u201d Pratt and Schwarzenegger met in the spring of 2018, announced their engagement in January 2019, and were married on June 8, 2019, in Montecito, California. The couple shares two daughters, Lyla and Eloise.<\/p>\n<p>Pratt was married to actress Anna Faris for eight years before they broke up in 2017, divorcing in 2018. They share custody of their son, 10-year-old Jack. The movie star said, \u201cThere was a moment in my life that I was really struggling and felt really broken.\u201d He added, \u201cFor me, my own journey of finding a higher power and leaning on that and feeling like, \u2018Please save me,\u2019 and then feeling saved \u2026 and then shortly, later meeting, you know, the woman of my dreams and being like, \u2018This is, wow, this feels great.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xq-5IlqoGKI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>When Barrymore shared that she was looking for love but was afraid to put herself out there, Pratt gave her some advice. He said, \u201cIt\u2019s all about timing. There\u2019s a perfect plan out there for you, and I think you just have to have faith. The minute you have faith, it falls into place.\u201d Barrymore mentioned that Pratt and Schwarzenegger met \u201cat a place of faith.\u201d Pratt confirmed, saying, \u201cYeah, we did. We met at a church.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pratt said he was sitting in the front row when he saw Schwarzenegger for the first time. He said, \u201cYou kind of don\u2019t want to be like, \u2018Whoa, who\u2019s that?\u2019 at church. But I was kind of sneaking some glances, and I\u2019m wondering, \u2018Who is that? Anyway, what am I doing? Come on; I\u2019m broken; help me. But who\u2019s that?\u2019 So we kind of hit it off. We didn\u2019t start dating right away, but we met there and then, later on, ended up going out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pratt said their connection was \u201cvery quick,\u201d and Barrymore echoed his previous confession that \u201cGod puts it on fast forward.\u201d Pratt continued, \u201cIt made sense. It\u2019s like when you\u2019re doing a puzzle. And there\u2019s a piece, and you\u2019re like, \u2018I\u2019m certain that\u2019s the piece.\u2019 Like it just fits together.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Barrymore recalled Schwarzenegger visiting the show to promote her latest book. She said of \u201cThe Gift of Forgiveness,\u201d \u201cWhen your wife was here, I bonded with her on her book about forgiveness, which I think is such a powerful thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe wrote this book, and she chronicles several different stories and their own journeys with forgiveness,\u201d Pratt detailed. \u201cThere\u2019s nothing about it that says you need to do it one way, or you need to do another \u2014 she was just really looking at people in their forgiveness journeys, and it\u2019s a fabulous book.
