Jennifer Lawrence is opening up about becoming a new mom. The Academy Award winner is featured in\u00a0Vogue\u2019s October\u00a0<\/a>issue and tells the magazine about her new world since welcoming her baby boy, Cy, in February.<\/p>\n

The \u201cHunger Games\u201d actress and Cooke Maroney welcomed a child together in February 2022, after tying the knot back in 2019. Seven months later, fans finally have some more news about the newborn, as Vogue confirmed she gave birth to a boy named Cy. The child is named after Cy Twombly, a painter Maroney, an art gallery director, considers one of his favorites.<\/p>\n

The interview marks the first time Lawrence publicly shared the gender or name of her child with husband Cooke Maroney. Lawrence said, \u201cIt\u2019s so scary to talk about motherhood, only because it\u2019s so different for everybody. If I say, \u2018It was amazing from the start,\u2019 some people will think, \u2018It wasn\u2019t amazing for me at first,\u2019 and feel bad.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said that before giving birth, she had a few friends tell her that she might experience some negative feelings and not immediately feel a connection with her son. Lawrence continued, \u201cFortunately, I have so many girlfriends who were honest. Who were like, \u2018It’s scary. You might not connect right away. You might not fall in love right away. So I felt so prepared to be forgiving. I remember walking with one of my best friends at, like, nine months, and being like, ‘Everyone keeps saying that I will love my baby more than my cat. But that’s not true. Maybe I’ll love him as much as my cat?'” she said.<\/p>\n

But for Lawrence, that was not the case. She said, “My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about. I include my husband in that. The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over. Like, now is day one of my life. I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. Now I love all babies. Now I hear a baby crying in a restaurant, and I’m like, ‘Awwww, preciousssss.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Having a baby has also left her wondering what the future will hold for the roles she chooses and what their son will say about her in therapy.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo many of my films in the past have been about\u00a0my<\/em>\u00a0mother,\u00a0my<\/em>\u00a0childhood. I wonder what will happen now that I\u2019ll be witnessing somebody else\u2019s childhood,\u201d mused Lawrence. \u201cAnd I wonder what he\u2019s going to be talking about with his therapist. \u2018She wouldn\u2019t put me down. She kisses me on the mouth. She asked me not to go to college.\u2019”<\/p>\n
