White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is celebrating a joyful new chapter after welcoming her second child\u2014a baby girl\u2014into the world.<\/p>\n

Leavitt, 28, announced that she and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, welcomed their daughter, Vivian, affectionately called \u201cVivi,\u201d on May 1. The exciting news was shared in an Instagram post on May 7, where she offered a glimpse into their growing family\u2019s happiness.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is perfect and healthy, and her big brother is joyfully adjusting to life with his new baby sister,\u201d Leavitt wrote. \u201cWe are enjoying every moment in our blissful newborn bubble.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s son, Niko\u2014now 21 months old\u2014has officially stepped into his new role as big brother, marking another milestone for the young family.<\/p>\n

Leavitt first revealed she was expecting her second child back in December, describing the pregnancy as a deeply meaningful blessing. At the time, she shared, \u201cThe greatest Christmas gift we could ever ask for\u2014a baby girl coming in May 2026\u2026 My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for the blessing of motherhood, which I truly believe is the closest thing to Heaven on Earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout her pregnancy, Leavitt continued serving in her role as President Donald Trump\u2019s chief spokesperson, making history as the first pregnant White House press secretary. Even in the final days leading up to her maternity leave, she remained actively engaged in her duties.<\/p>\n

In fact, what was supposed to be her final appearance before stepping away took an unexpected turn when an active shooter situation disrupted the White House Correspondents\u2019 Dinner in late April. Leavitt briefly returned to the podium to address the incident and speak out against political violence before officially beginning her leave.<\/p>\n

According to reports, Leavitt is expected to return to her role following maternity leave, with no formal replacement named during her absence. In the meantime, administration officials\u2014including Vice President JD Vance\u2014are expected to assist with press briefings.<\/p>\n

Leavitt and Riccio, who got engaged in 2023, welcomed their first child, Niko, in July 2024. After his birth, Leavitt made headlines for returning quickly to work during a critical moment in the presidential campaign\u2014something she previously said was driven by a strong sense of purpose and responsibility.<\/p>\n
