Sharon shared that the following morning, Ozzy went downstairs to work out, but tragedy soon struck. \u201cI ran downstairs, and there he was, and they were trying to resuscitate him, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Don\u2019t \u2014 just leave him. Leave him. You can\u2019t. He\u2019s gone,\u2019\u201d she recalled through tears. \u201cAnd they tried and tried, and then they took him by helicopter to the hospital \u2026 and it\u2019s like, \u2018He\u2019s gone. Just leave him.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Black Sabbath frontman, who had battled Parkinson\u2019s disease since 2019, died at 76 on July 22. Sharon said she \u201cknew instantly\u201d he was gone and that he had been \u201cready\u201d after confiding in her about strange dreams he\u2019d been having. \u201cHe had told me that he was having dreams in the last week of his life. He was seeing people that he never knew,\u201d she said. \u201cHe goes, \u2018All different people. And I just keep walking and walking, and I\u2019m seeing all these different people every night \u2026 and they\u2019re looking at me, and nobody\u2019s talking.\u2019 And he knew. He was ready.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite being gravely ill, Ozzy gave one last performance in Birmingham, England, less than two weeks before his death \u2014 a 10-hour farewell concert featuring Metallica, Guns N\u2019 Roses, and Jack Black. Doctors had warned him not to do it. \u201cThe main doctor said to him, \u2018If you do this show, that\u2019s it. You\u2019re not going to get through it,\u2019\u201d Sharon revealed. But Ozzy refused to back down, telling her he wanted to finish strong.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was in so much pain,\u201d she added. \u201cHe\u2019d had pneumonia three times this year. He\u2019d had sepsis. That\u2019s what really, really destroyed him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Still, the show brought him immense joy. \u201cHe was so happy afterwards,\u201d Sharon said. \u201cHe kept looking at the papers and goes, \u2018I never knew so many people liked me.\u2019 He knew he was famous, but not how much people loved him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For Sharon, their final weeks together were filled with light. \u201cEvery day was like sunshine,\u201d she said softly. \u201cHe was so happy.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sharon Osbourne is opening up about the heartbreaking final moments she shared with her late husband, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, before his passing in July.
