Very weird watching Lieberman. I was at the Democratic convention when it nominated Lieberman.

\nAckkkk! “What you can expect from John McCain as President is precisely what he has done this week: which is to put country first.” That’s the 983rd instance of a Republican talking about how great Republicans are for not trying to promote the Republican Party during the natural disaster.
\nI thought it was quite shrewd to offer up Lieberman as the witness of McCain’s willingness to reach across party lines. He definitely trumped Obama on that. The Democrats tried to anticipate this by pointing out that McCain has agreed with Bush on the big issues lately, but McCain was bipartisan before he was partisan.
\nTepid applause when he mentioned McCain’s bipartisan efforts on immigration and judicial appointees — both efforts that made him loathed by conservatives. That part was for the folks in TV-Land, not the hall.
\nThe comparison of Obama to Clinton struck me as one of the fairest critiques levelled by the McCain campaign so far.
