Oh dear. Jim Corsi, author of the new anti-Obama book that’s already hit the top of the bestseller list, apparently has an internet altar ego with some rather dramatic views. According to Media Matters, Corsi posted on FreeRepublic.com as “jrlc”:<\/p>\n
On Catholics and the Pope<\/strong>
\n“Boy buggering in both Islam and Catholicism is okay with the Pope as long as it isn’t reported by the liberal press.”
\n“So this is what the last days of the Catholic Church are going to look like. Buggering boys undermines the moral base and the laywers rip the gold off the Vatican altars. We may get one more Pope, when this senile one dies, but that’s probably about it.”
\nOn Islam and Arabs<\/strong>
\n“Islam is like a virus — it affects the mind — maybe even better as an analogy — it is a cancer that destroys the body it infects… No doctor would hesitate to eliminate cancer cells from the body.”

A liberal group called Catholics United is asking John McCain to denounce Corsi.
\nOther interesting questions: will Bill Donohue at the Catholic League have something to say about this? Will media outlets continue to book Corsi? So far he’s appeared on: Fox and Friends, Hannity & Colmes, MSNBC, CNN (Glenn Beck), Hannity’s America, to name a few.
\nUPDATE: Corsi said on CNN that these comment “were not written to express my true views. They were intentionally written to be antagonistic.” He said he’s a “member in good standing of the catholic church.” And he’s apologized<\/a> at one point, saying, “I don’t stand by any of those comments and I apologize if they offended anybody.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Oh dear.
