{"id":99,"date":"2011-07-04T10:31:16","date_gmt":"2011-07-04T14:31:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/smalltownamerica\/?p=99"},"modified":"2011-07-04T10:32:32","modified_gmt":"2011-07-04T14:32:32","slug":"dandelions-and-violets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/smalltownamerica\/2011\/07\/dandelions-and-violets.html","title":{"rendered":"Dandelions and Violets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dandelions\u00a0 and violets are considered by most to be the enemies of our perfectly landscaped lawns.\u00a0 In many other countries people don&#8217;t even have lawns with lush grass growing.\u00a0 They may have rocks or sand, concrete slabs or just plain dirt outside their homes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/smalltownamerica\/files\/2011\/07\/IMG_01303.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-151\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/259\/2011\/07\/IMG_01303-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>I&#8217;m a big believer in, &#8220;Everything is beautiful in its own way&#8221;.\u00a0 I&#8217;m a lover of nature (except for spiders).\u00a0 Dandelions and violets are so lovely when grasped in the hand of a small child.\u00a0 When you pass a field of dandelions in full bloom it almost looks like a beautiful golden carpet.\u00a0 Violets seem to pop up all over the place in the spring.\u00a0 Who can resist those little purple blooms with the sweet fragrance?<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/smalltownamerica\/files\/2011\/07\/IMG_01223.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-152\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/259\/2011\/07\/IMG_01223-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a> If you look closely at a dandelion, you will see that it has hundreds of tiny petals and little wispy things.\u00a0 It is quite intricate and ornate; a wonderful creation.\u00a0 I wonder how much time and care God put in to making this WEED?\u00a0 Violets come in so many colors and sizes, but the purple are my favorite.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 These WEEDS have a way of growing in the most adverse conditions.\u00a0 They don&#8217;t need any special attention.\u00a0 We don&#8217;t have to feed and water them regularly.\u00a0 And we don&#8217;t have to replant them every year.\u00a0 In fact, they thrive and multiply all on their own.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 People should be more like dandelions and violets.\u00a0 They only need a place to grow.\u00a0 They depend on God to meet all their needs and never complain.\u00a0 They somehow manage to bring joy to others without even trying.\u00a0 And, they don&#8217;t worry about anything because they are not dependent on man, but on God alone.\u00a0 God never\u00a0 fails.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dandelions\u00a0 and violets are considered by most to be the enemies of our perfectly landscaped lawns.\u00a0 In many other countries people don&#8217;t even have lawns with lush grass growing.\u00a0 They may have rocks or sand, concrete slabs or just plain dirt outside their homes. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;m a big believer in, &#8220;Everything is beautiful in&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":420,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[14],"tags":[21],"class_list":["post-99","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-inspiration","tag-nature"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.9 -
