We have an ice rink about three blocks from us and my kids have always been skaters.\u00a0 This year we had the wonderful experience of having both of our sons home at the same time.\u00a0 So, they decided it would be a good idea for them to all go ice skating.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Matt hasn’t skated in many years.\u00a0Jorden, 16,\u00a0had only skated once before, and Jen and Erin had never skated before.\u00a0 Jonathan and Stephanie have skated forever and still skate quite often.\u00a0 Jonathan works part time at the Ashburn Icehouse in Virginia.\u00a0 They have 4 boys.\u00a0 Ben and David have been in hockey leagues for several years and now are both on traveling teams.\u00a0 They have tons of medals and trophies.\u00a0 Ben is 11 and David is 9.\u00a0 They have twin\u00a0brothers who are 4, Jesse and Joshua.\u00a0 The twins got their first ice skates for their second birthday and have been skating ever since.\u00a0 They already are taking lessons and can fly across the ice.\u00a0 They are almost ready to join the Minnie Mites team.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Imagine the contrast on the ice that day.\u00a0 Erin, 5, was using an ice walker to stay up.\u00a0 She still hit the ice a lot.\u00a0I have never seen an ice walker before, but it sure helped.\u00a0Jorden just held on to the wall as she worked her way around the rink.\u00a0 Jen was a little braver and Matt took right off.\u00a0 It only took a few minutes to for him to remember how to skate.<\/p>\n

I must say this was a very enjoyable experience for Grandma, who sat on\u00a0 the sidelines taking pictures.\u00a0 Great family bonding time.\u00a0 Sore feet and sore bottoms were the problem of the day, but a good time was had by all.<\/p>\n

God is so good.\u00a0 He still surprises me sometimes.\u00a0 I love my kids and grand-kids.\u00a0 What a blessing they are to me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
