I would much rather eat a piece of homemade carrot cake than eat a raw carrot. I would be more likely to choose chocolate as a treat, over a radish.\u00a0 Most of us would rather have ice cream instead of tomatoes.\u00a0 However, we need to eat our veggies.\u00a0 We need to partake in things that our good for us.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I like most veggies, but not tomatoes or peppers.\u00a0 I can easily eat celery and carrots sticks for a snack.\u00a0 Would I rather have chocolate?\u00a0 You bet I would, but that isn’t what is best for me.<\/p>\n

Remember the song in “Mary Poppins”, ‘A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down’?\u00a0 That is true, but how many of us just eat the sugar and skip the medicine?\u00a0 Or skip the veggies and eat the donuts?<\/p>\n

God asks us to make healthy choices; not only in the food we eat, but also in other areas of our lives.\u00a0 We can choose every day.\u00a0 We can go to that R rated movie,or spend the evening playing scrabble with the kids.\u00a0 We can sit in our recliner or take a walk.\u00a0 We can always think negatively or choose to stand in faith.<\/p>\n

I don’t know if God really cares if we eat our veggies or not.\u00a0 A donut now and then isn’t going to hurt us.\u00a0\u00a0He does care about how we think, how we spend are time, how we respond to others and how we portray Him to the world around us.\u00a0 We are the only\u00a0Bible many people will ever read.\u00a0 We need to get it right.<\/p>\n

In Philippians 4:8-9 we are told, “Finally,brethren, whatsoever things are true,\u00a0\u00a0whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.\u00a0 Those things which you have both learned and received, and heard and seen Me do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”<\/p>\n

That is pretty clear to me.\u00a0 So let’s all eat our spiritual veggies.\u00a0 We will stronger for having done so.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
