\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Where have all the children gone?\u00a0 I don’t see them walking to the pool or riding their bikes down my street.\u00a0 I can’t hear them laughing and argueing on the corner.\u00a0 I haven’t seen them with their skateboards and roller blades for a few days.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School has started!\u00a0 I know the parents are happy, but now that I am retired, I miss those little guys.\u00a0 I taught kindergarten for 9 years, was the principal of a small Chritian school for 3 years, and taught pre-school for another 5 years before I retired.\u00a0 Many people get frustrated with small chldren, I can’t get enough of them.\u00a0 It was great to get paid for acting like a 5 year old.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I have taught this age group in Sunday school of nearly 45 years.\u00a0 I still do volunteer work, as an art teacher and librarian,\u00a0at the daycare I retired from.\u00a0\u00a0 I also work with any\u00a0children who are staying at our local homeless shelter.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God has given me such of love for these little ones.\u00a0 I just have to have my ”\u00a0kid fix” nearly every day.\u00a0 My wonderful grandchildren all live too far away.\u00a0 I only get to see them a couple times a year.\u00a0 God is so good, in that He provides a way for me to touch these small lives quite often.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There is something about their laughter that fills my heart with joy; something about their curiosity that makes me want to explain things; something about their simple faith, that builds my own faith.\u00a0 They give me strength and hope for the future.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Psalm 8:2 “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hath thou ordained strength.”<\/p>\n
