{"id":329,"date":"2011-08-22T17:00:38","date_gmt":"2011-08-22T21:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/smalltownamerica\/?p=329"},"modified":"2011-08-22T17:00:38","modified_gmt":"2011-08-22T21:00:38","slug":"summer-delights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/smalltownamerica\/2011\/08\/summer-delights.html","title":{"rendered":"Summer Delights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/smalltownamerica\/files\/2011\/08\/IMG_0320.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-346\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/259\/2011\/08\/IMG_0320-300x253.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"253\" \/><\/a> I love the summer time, when all the lovely flowers bloom.\u00a0 I have flowers that start when there is still snow on the ground and some that bloom right up to the first frost.\u00a0 I like all kinds of flowers, but especially zinnias.\u00a0 They are so easy to grow and come in so many colors and sizes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Just take a few packs of seeds and toss them on the ground, cover them up and give them a drink.\u00a0 God will do the rest.\u00a0 If you look at a zinnea carefully, it almost looks like there is a flower inside the flower.\u00a0 It&#8217;s amazing!\u00a0 Or, I am easily impressed.\u00a0 I like the pink ones the best&#8230;..I think.\u00a0 Although, \u00a0the orange ones are nice too.<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/smalltownamerica\/files\/2011\/08\/IMG_03191.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-348\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/259\/2011\/08\/IMG_03191-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In the fall these little fellows will make their own seed for next year.\u00a0 That is unless the birds\u00a0\u00a0eat them all first.\u00a0 This year I planted them around the birdbath so maybe I will need to buy new seed next year.\u00a0 That&#8217;s okay, they don&#8217;t cost much and they bring such joy to me and my neighbors.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 God must love flowers too.\u00a0 He referred to Jesus as &#8220;the Lily of the Valley&#8221; and the beautiful &#8220;Rose of Sharon&#8221;.\u00a0 They are a simple delight on a warm summer&#8217;s day.\u00a0 Take time to enjoy the zinnias and smell the roses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I love the summer time, when all the lovely flowers bloom.\u00a0 I have flowers that start when there is still snow on the ground and some that bloom right up to the first frost.\u00a0 I like all kinds of flowers, but especially zinnias.\u00a0 They are so easy to grow and come in so many&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":420,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[36],"tags":[21],"class_list":["post-329","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-just-for-fun","tag-nature"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.9 -
