complete with car hops and hanging trays.\u00a0 The food is fabulous and the atmosphere always takes you back to the sixties.\u00a0 My fist job was as a car hop on the other end of town at the West End Root Beer Stand.\u00a0 They have been closed for years.\u00a0 Now we only have one on the east side of town, Woody&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As teenagers we would cruise State Street from one root beer stand to the other.\u00a0 That was a regular Friday night event for me and my girlfriends.\u00a0 Actually I met my husband on one such night and we have been married for nearly 42 years now.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 My kids always want to eat at Woody&#8217;s when they come back to visit.\u00a0 We made many wonderful family memories at that old drive in restraunt.\u00a0 They still have the best chili foot longs in town, in fact probably the only place that still sells them.\u00a0 The root beer floats are out of this world and the onions rings are the greatest.<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/smalltownamerica\/files\/2011\/08\/IMG_00912.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-262\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/259\/2011\/08\/IMG_00912-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We have an old fashioned Root Beer Stand in my home town;
