\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We have a white cat named Smudge.\u00a0 When he was a kitten he was all white with one gray spot on his head.\u00a0 That smudge has long since vanished, but his name remains.\u00a0\u00a0 Smudge is a strange cat but we love him just the same.\u00a0 He has this thing he does……..he sleeps in the most peculiar places.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One of his favorite places is inside a paper grocery bag.\u00a0 I think he believes he is hiding.\u00a0 Boxes are also a good place for him to rest.\u00a0 Sometimes he tries to squeeze his big body into a tiny box.\u00a0 He tries so hard and it’s quite funny, but , alas there is always some body part hanging over the edges.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \"\"<\/a>One day I found Smudge in this toilet riser.\u00a0 He looked so cute in there, like he was at total peace with the world.\u00a0 He didn’t care that he was sleeping in a toilet seat.\u00a0 He didn’t care that we were all laughing at him.\u00a0 He wasn’t concerned that once that seat was in the right place he would be in danger of being flushed away.\u00a0 His only thoughts were rest and relaxation, peace and contentment.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Smudge had found a secret that most of us never find; a position of total trust.\u00a0 He trusted that we would not harm him.\u00a0 He trusted that his life was of value.\u00a0 He trusted that we were looking out for his best interest.\u00a0 And we were!\u00a0 So he was able to rest and sleep in peace where ever he chose, even a toilet seat.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In Proverbs 3:5-6 we are told, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thy own understanding.\u00a0 In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.”\u00a0 That sounds like good advice. Actually this is one of my favorite scriptures.\u00a0 Our God is worthy of our trust.\u00a0 He will not fail us.\u00a0 He will guide and protect us.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Although I believe this to be true, I still don’t like the idea of sleeping in a toilet seat.\u00a0 Pslam 4:8 says, “I will both lay me down in peace and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makes me dwell in safety.”<\/p>\n
